August 11th, 2009Ethiopian Christianity matters today, and not just for its history. The nation has one of the world's highest fertility rates; its population swelled from 33 million in 1975 to 85 million today, and it could be 180 million by 2050. Today there are 50 million Christians in Ethiopia; by 2050 there may be 100 million, which would make Ethiopia the home of one of the world's largest Christian communities.
