brownYour Idea seems good but last times dr. Tolossa and others told Ethiopian Christians to Join Poletics and some trust them as if it is from God and now they are not with the Lord. Take For Eg. Bertikan Medekssa was a Christian but the momnent She Joined Poletics she Abandond here Religion and Daniel assefa plus Eyeuel are on the same category. You told as what the Eriterian Governement is doing why don't you tell us if there is from ethiopian government side .Please don't be pesimesit for we are in the true light -Jesus Christ.

Tegga LendadoWhat is taught in the great seminaries, "the cultural mandate" of the Great Commission (Mt. 28:19-20) seems to be disregarded or ill-regarded by the chrurch. The cultural mandate teaches how Christians should influence or impact the world based on the salt and light as well as the yeast parable of our Lord. Many of the Old Testament characters including the minor and major prophets have left us a legacy. John the Baptist, Jesus, the Christ and St. Paul taught and advocated social justice. The Epistle of James rebukes us of our incorrect worship, neglecting the poor, widows, orphans and the needy not only in the church but also 'outside of the four walls'. The Great Commission's mandate is to GO to the world, not confine or confer in the church or other comfort zone.

The problem is with the leaders who do not model Christ-likeness. With all honesty and humility, I, for one, was a government official during the Dergue reign, like countless others. I confronted communism and corruption to the core. Of course, I paid a little price. This isn't about bragging of bravery but all to the glory of God and to the benefit of the younger generation. We are not ashamed of the gospel and its power (Rom. 1:16:ff). Many had paid a great price of being a voice in the wilderness. My hats off! for General Taye Tilahun, Dr. Neussie Tefferra, Ato Million Belete, the late Ato Tilahun Haile, Ato Regassa Jimma, Bro. Girma Zewdie (author of Ethiopis), Capt. Alemayehu and his collegues, Capt. Yohannes Ejigu (now pastor), Rev. Berhanu Deresse, Ato Shifferaw (governemt minister) and many, many more. The late Dr. Kitaw Ejigu, my friend was pioneered the fear of God in his political prinicples. There are many today working with the current governemnt with impeccable integrity. They are shining the gospel light in their corneres. These are living tetimonies (although others have gone to be with the Lord). But, we need many more committed leaders to speak up for truth, justice, peace, love, integrity, moral values and reconciliation.

I do not know about the individual Christians metioned above by Mr. Brown. But, I know one thing. They should not be disowned by the body of Christ. We should love them and pray for them allthemore and redirect them to Christ. They will learn their lessons in the valley and rise again if they were born-again believers in the first place. Please, mind also that they would stand for the Christian values implanted in them even if they may feel weak to practice them.

God bless every one.
