I have one simple concern that I want to share with the author and readers of this article. We have to be very careful when interpreting the Holy Scriptures.
For example, as the author of the above article indicated, it is true that "the LORD" has promised to give Abraham "the land that Abraham sees". This is exactly how God put it: "And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever."[Gen.13:14-15]
Then God further exaplans: "Then He [the LORD] said to him, “I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit it.”" [Gen.15:7] Please notice that "the land which you see" is replaced as "this land" here.
Finally, God laid out the boundaries of "the land that He gave to Abraham and his descedants" as: "On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates—..." [Gen.15:18-21]
My point is: what father Abraham inherited is not limited by the distance that he could see; however, the land that the LORD promised to give Abraham & his descendants is far, far beyond Abraham could see in his bare eyes. Obviously, Abraham is not a superhuman (with a super vision) who could see from River Egypt to River Euphrates, which could be thousand miles apart.
Therefore, I want to repeat my point-we have to be extra careful NOT to mis-interpret (or mis-apply) Scripture to make our point!
God bless!

Dear Melaku Abej
It is wonderful to read your article. But my Question is what is Faith? Please make it clear.

Amare's comment on the article is "well said". I like the way he refrained from judging or condemning Melaku Abije as a person or his article but he clearly and concisely persented the danger of interpreting scripture based on our own subjective understanding.
I believe that Melaku is well meaning and is not presenting his view point divisively. But he needs to pursue doctrinal soundness and correct biblical exegesis (interpretation).
May god bless both Melaku and Amare.
Grace to you both.

I want to express my deep appreciation and respect for the comments about my articles.
I Understand also the fear of misinterpret (or mis-apply) scriptures to make our point.i agree on that. but in my message i was not talking about physical eye or bare eye.my whole point was about the inner eye which apostle Paul Pray abut for the church in Ephesians 1:19.
For my sister question what is faith is my answer is from the scripture. The Bible answer clearly in Hebrew what FAITH is
"what is faith? it is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see" (Hebrews 11:1)
The only source of our faith is the WORD OF GOD ( Romans 10:17)
thanks
GOD bless!
