Meskelu GetaPeace to all.Praise God for those people who witness based on the guidance of the Bible as it is written here by our brother Gezahegn Musse. The recent songs of Dereje Kebede is painful and unacceptable to many who are deceived by the contemporary pseudo gospel teaching.Dereje has crticized perfectly the errenous new patterns that are very dangerous to the church of Christ. What dereje presented in relation to the serotype traders in the name of minstry.Yes of course those people who jsut want praise from others enetertain the so called appreciation day while Dereje rejected that by singing appreciatioin to God only. Gezahegn Musse is the very qualified person to comment on this as a singer himself and as man of literature and theology.By the way Gezahegn is very sharp in proper critics when he evaluated Muluken's song about the use of MANKORAFAT for good sleep because of the Lord's grace!
It is the same with the other Tesfaye Gabisso who preach last time at US cities against such deceptive teachings.
Thank you Gezahegn for giving us very detailed scriptural comments.By the way I personally like Gezahegn's new song about children and call my daughters some times SETOTAWOCHE!

HelenMay God bless you brother Gezahegn Mussie!
We need brothers and sisters like you who reveal the truth, speak with boldness, give some advices for whom 'adro karia' & ‘awko ateffi’. I don't know about this guy, but we are sick and tired of these kinds of people in the church. They open their mouth to kill others who tell the truth like Dr. Dereje Kebede. What I don’t understand is, they are in the church, they are with other Christians, on top of that, they have ‘ministry’. LEAVE US ALONE Ato or W/o ‘Yewubdare’!!
What is the new generation learning from these 'abatoch'? insult, putting down people, lie,... Again, keep up a good work Gezahegn Mussie. I don't see any mistake on your article. May God bless your gift (writing articulately)

Yewubdar AmsaleGreetings to all! Greetings again!! And very warm greetings to brother Gezahegn Muse!!!

Good job, brother Gezahegn, but it was not well done. Although you labeled me having Derejephobia (as I have fear of him), I can see that you are totally turned to Derejemannia(advocator and a boundaryless fun of him in whatsoever means possible). Well, I respect your personal position although I do not appreciate the way you have presentd your objections to my review of Dereje album number 9.

Are you ready to continue to fairly echange ideas (dialogus) around your piece of work written against my views of Dereje?

I just wanted to make sure if you are ready to echange our views and have oppeness to learn from one another in fair this dialogue.

In Xt's Love!

Yewubdar AmsaleHello brother Gezahegn,

I'm eagerly waiting to read your "yes" or "no" respond to my invitation to fully engage into a critical dialogue over the issue at hand. Are you really ready to go? I can't wait to read your respond.

GWDYewubdar,

I have read brother Gezahegn Musse's comment on your article. He has already engaged into a dialogue over the CD. I just don't see the point of you writting three comments under a blog like this. If you have comments, go ahead and bring them on and see if Gezahegn is going to respond to them.

HannaI think this article is very well written. However, not all of us had a chance to read the article by Yewibdar so in all fairness, this dialogue must stick to the issues rather than the people who voiced them. We should know by now that the "she said, he said" route doesn't take us too far. Dereje chose to sing about issues of today's church as he understood them; where Dereje lived for the past 30 years, his marital status and his education is irrelevant to the subject matter - he is NOT the issue just the voice (as are Yewibdar and Gezahegn).

We all are protective of our church but we shouldn't be so defensive to the point of denying our existing problems.

Most importantly, we're all in this together. When one hurts, so does (should) the rest of the body. Let our dialogue reflect our desire to team up as agents of change!

Yewubdar AmsaleHello Hanna,
Thanks for ur comment on not all of the readers have read my review of Dereje on Metanoya magazine in Ethiopia. I am convinced that I should post my review first and then my respond to Gezahegn Muse. Hope this would create a flavor for fair judgement.

In Xt's love.

visitorHi, there! I think Gezahegn quoted almost all of the passages from yewobdar's article before commenting on them. Though there is no harm in reading Yewoubdar's article to which Gezahegn responded, one can get what Yewoubdar had said from the article Gezahegn wrote and reading Yewoubdar's article may not be a must to appreciate the argument.

AmareI agree with the comment of "visitor" above in that, Brother Gezahegn would not mis-quote from Yewudar's article to make his case. In fact, I also afraid that reading Yewbdar's article in full might make things from bad to worse, in that it might anger (or hurt) many and/or expose Yewubdar's biased view more. Personally, I don't long for to read the article (i.e., I prefer not to read Yewubdar's whole artice, even if I will read it if I get a chance).

But as a Christian, the following are what I couldn't comprehend:
- Why does we allow our emotions to BLIND us this far?
- Why do we assassin our brother's character for telling us our faults?
- Why? Why????

As for Dereje's recent album:
- Should ALL of the songs be condemned?
- Are ALL the 11 songs unbiblical based? Or
- Do ALL the songs reflect Dereje's character (his past or present)?
- Is crying for your beloved motherland and her people wrong?
- Why is it wrong to sing by saying (Just like the Psalimists) "Search my soul, Oh! God! search my motives..."?
- Is it wrong to declare "The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork!"?
- Why is it wrong to warn us the end is near?

Well, I pray to God to replace our "stoney-heart" with a "flesh-heart".

joerevishFolks, anyone whom the song of the gentleman offends seem that the Spirit of Truth is challenging his or her personal interest and investment. Or, they may not have the following verses in their Bible. II Timothy CH.3: 16, and CH.4: 3. Philippians CH.3: 2. Matthew CH.21: 12. If they now see these verses in the book they traditionally wave at others, then it is high time to deal with it, and not with the gentleman.
