HelenI live outside of Ethiopia and don't get a chance to read all the magazines, but when I read the responses from this website or get some magazines from there, some articles break my heart; they are very very low, embarrassing, some of them don’t look Christians magazines at all, they focus on individuals (especially on the few people who tell the truth or sing).

Honestly, now a day, I have doubts that if these people are ‘real’ Christians. As we all know, the bible says, “…having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.” The problem is, these people are among us (in the Church).
May God help all of us.

Bless you sister Mekedes. Keep Up.

Joe RevishHelen I do not know what is exasperating you, do you realize the people back home are dealing with some arrogant self-important spirit that is rearing itself, to be worshiped. They are putting up a fight of faith for the cause of the Gospel. They are not denying the power rather they are adhering to it. The ones denying the power are those using the Gospel for their own end and glory, rather than the glory of God. In fact, they are making merchandize out of it, for example you may have heard of the term “Kisachihun dabsu”.

If you go back and read your Bible it teaches that the Holy Spirit is here only to glorify Christ, and no one else or fleece the people of God. The Bible teaches that unless you answer a fool in his foolishness, he will think he is wise in his own heart. Those offensive anonymous people attacking people in the cover of darkness could not be trusted nor the person they are defending. We need to persevere in prayer and not attack those who are putting their necks out to defend the honor and the Glory of God. I appreciate the young lady for her succinct and timely response. God bless her and those like her, my prayers are with them, I have no greater joy than to hear my children walk in truth says the Word.

JantesI appreciated the fact that you took the time to reply. But I was disappointed that you too sounded quite disrespectful. The tone of your remarks was an angry one. You also seemed to side with Paulos. I must say that I admired Paulos' courage and insight. At the same time he appeared to be disrespectful and sarcastic in his approach and he needed to be admonished for that. My feeling was all three of you: Paulos, 'Ahaw' and yourself fell short of the virtues of writing. You need to focus on the issue than the person! I guess we are not raised in such a way. For Ethiopians there seems to be no distinction between the person and his ideas.
Thank you all for writing so that we might learn from your mistakes and strengths too.
