12 years of Conflict between Entoto Mekane Yesus members end in reunification
EECMY:- The conflict that was erupted 12 years ago, at the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY) Entoto Congregation which became additional input to the cause for the disintegration of the administration of the Central Ethiopia Synod (CES)and the split of its congregations in Addis Ababa, was ended on April 10, 2010 in a joyous reconciliation ceremony at which the reunion of the separated members of the congregations was officially declared.

Gullele Bethel Mekane Yesus congregation reportedly said was the origin of the cause for the conflict at the EECMY-CES that later widened its horizon and became a cause for continued separation of other Central Ethiopia Synod congregations from the EECMY, that established a new Church with a name Addis Ababa and Surrounding Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (AASECMY).
CES after the disintegration of its administration has been under a supervision of a Provisional Administrative Committee that was appointed by the Executive Committee of the Church, for a little less than two years up until it was again reinstated its permanent administration by electing its President.
It was reportedly said that Rev. Dr. Wakesyoum Idosa, EECMY President has called upon the members of the merging congregations to pay all required price on the building of the resaved unity, despite the would be recurring challenges on the way, owing to the long years of separation that led the two congregations to experience different administrations under different circumstances.
Ato Geleso Bore, Chairperson of the Addis Ababa Congregations Transitional Administrative and Organizing Commission (AACTAOC) speaking at the occasion said that it is high time for the members of the uniting Congregations, to leave aside the past differences, build on the regained unity and be proactive for the extension of the gospel with the determination to compensate the wasted past years of spiritual deficit.
It was noted that the past twelve years of conflicts has forced efforts of Entoto congregation to flow to two streams and hence the years of separation have been of a drastic loss of love, unity, spiritual strength, fellowship and of weakening of the preaching of the gospel during which members of both congregations have experienced deficit in spiritual gain.
Leaders attended the occasion were Rev. Dr. Wakesyoum Idosa, EECMY President, Rev. Dereje Jembru EECMY Vice President who led the ceremony at the occasion, Ato Dereje Asmare, Chairperson of Reconciliation and Administrative Committee that was established to work towards bringing peace and reconciliation between the two Mekane Yesus Churches and Ato Geleso Bore Chairperson of AACTAOC.
At the occasion, it was reported that there was a moment of exciting experience that gave ample opportunity to the members of Entoto congregation who have been separated for the last 12 years, to meet face to face with rather different impression than the years during which they have been seeing one another as enemies.
Ironically, interesting is that the occasion came with the opportunity that enabled even those who have joined other denominations to share the joy that resulted from the declaration of the re-union.

I am also sad that the reunifacation took this long time.Even if i dont know the detail but itis amazing to take like this one long time to become united.t shows how difficult to be united than separation.
Anyways God bless you all who worked hard to make the reunification.
Solomon.
My message goes to some other members of the church which are still in quarrel. Unity is our strength through which God works and which is also necessary for our gospel mission...
God bless the church
