Tegga LendadoI appreciate the coservative biblical positon of the leader on all of the issues raised. I totally agree with him at least in that:

The act of homosexuality represents an offense against God and morality, he said, and that "permanently disqualifies a person from holding ministerial credentials."

I struggled with this issue taking such a radically biblical position and had to pay a big price. Now the problem with quasi-liberal, semi-pentecostal, neo-charismatic ministers is their position on the other two issues. Speaking in tongue is a sign to bewildered unbelievers on the day of Pentecost. The striking initial wonder of the spectators was not only the tongue but mainly the physical and spiritual unity and the evident sanity of the 120 on the day of Pentecost (ACTS 2). The gift of speaking in toungue should be exercised in a worship setting where the message of tongue is interpreted for the benefit of the congregation. Otherwise, the gift is a liability to an orderly worshipping congregation. Speaking in tongues alone is not a sign of spirituality. I would rather be marked by the fruits of the Spirit starting with LOVE.....

The other serious issue is giving for missions and evangelism. Unfortunately, the msiions budget of an average chage church in America might be 1-5% only. This is mainly because the focus is on the shepherd, the sheep and the building and the glamour therof. In fact evangelists and missionaries are non-existent in such churches. That is why we have the controversy of "apostleship" today in our own circles. The whole concept of ministry has shifted from servant leadership to apostle/bishop/pastoral lordship particularly in the so-called Pentecostal churches. The world is laughing at us as we compete for the world's resources in its ways of corruption, mischief and manipulation. True servants of God must speak and live by the truth at any cost, any where and under any circumstance. That is truly being the yeast, salt and light to the world in the name of Christ. Then and only then can Pentecostalism make any impact. Otherwise, it just another denomination!

"There are so many gimmicks in the body of Christ," he said, "so many charlatans that are out there in the Christian media that are basically saying 'send me $100 and watch God bless you."

I totally agree that these charlatans are wasting God's resources. Not only that, enticed by theri glamour, God's people are being mis-led away from the truth by the day to their doom. A dear "mature" Christian friend of mine spent thousands of dollars on these false prophets from California. He was promised something and never got it within the promised time and finally he gave up with the false prophet!

I thank God for servants like Rev. Wood who make their position public.

God bless all and have a great day of true and Spitit-filled worship.
