CIC Scene:- ICEJ has also made a generous donation to an Israeli summer camp for Ethiopian children. These programs have proven essential in helping Ethiopians to adapt to life in Israel, particularly in the face of serious linguistic, social, and cultural challenges.

This important flight represents just one more chapter in the dramatic story of Ethiopia's Jewish community – of which more than 100,000 now live in Israel. While Israel's military has airlifted thousands directly from Ethiopia, many walked hundreds of miles under harrowing conditions just to reach Israel. Today, they live as full citizens of the Jewish state, proudly serving in the Israeli Defence Forces, in the Knesset, and across various sectors.

Perhaps more than any other immigrant community in recent years, the Jews of Ethiopia are living evidence of the miracle that is Israel. With every planeload of excited new immigrants from one of the most afflicted parts of Africa, we are reminded that Israel remains committed to providing a safe and secure homeland for Jews from all corners of the world – regardless of race, language, or background.
